Seahorse Innovation Lab

About Seahorse Innovation Lab

Built on Lean Startup methodology

After eleven startups, countless pivots, and hard-won lessons about what actually makes an idea work, we built Seahorse Innovation Lab for membership non-profits — using the same lean principles we're now putting in your members' hands. Your organization deserves more members. Let's grow it together.

Deborah Hill

Deborah Hill, Founder and CEO

Deb knows what it takes to turn a good idea into something real. Over a career spanning more than eleven startups, she worked alongside founders, investors, and clients — validating ideas, navigating pivots, building go-to-market strategies, and helping early-stage companies find their footing. Her experience includes developing a rigorous evaluation framework to de-risk startup ideas before they went to market, and accelerating startups from identification to exit on behalf of VCs.

But it was her experience as a member of mission-driven communities that revealed a different kind of opportunity. The same lean principles that launch successful startups, she realized, could transform how non-profit organizations grow.

Seahorse Innovation Lab is the result. Deborah founded it to give everyday members — not just leaders — the entrepreneurial tools to bring more people into the organizations they love.

How This Platform Was Built

Seahorse Innovation Lab's platform was developed by Deb in collaboration with Claude, an AI assistant made by Anthropic, used as a development tool throughout the design and coding process. We believe in being transparent about how we build our tools, just as we're transparent about how we work with the organizations we serve.
